Description

Suspension has improved, mountain bikes have progressed, and so have helmets, meet POC’s Trabec Race MIPS. It's made with a durable polycarbonate shell that’s reinforced with an aramid grid. The inner EPS foam core is also reinforced with aramid filaments, and the whole thing sits around your head for additional safety. This helmet features the MIPS system that allows the interior and exterior layers to move independently for superior protection in real world situations. Whats more, it's loaded with 16 huge vents for excellent ventilation and a great looking adjustable visor, that offers protection from rain, sun, mud, and the occasional low-hanging branch.

MIPS technology

The Multi-directional Impact Protection System (MIPS) offers excellent protection from the most common impacts in real world riding, ones that occur at an angle. A MIPS equipped helmet features a low-friction layer between the outer shell and the inner liner that allows the shell to rotate with an impact. The outer shell can then absorb much of the energy from the hit, and reduce the amount of forces to your head.

Trabec's structure

POC modeled the Trabec after trabecular bone structure, known for its exceptional strength and durability. The word Trabec means "small beam" in Latin, and POC uses an aramid grid reinforcement beam structure for superior protection with excellent ventilation. The orange lines represent the aramid beams in the Trabec that let it live up to its name.
